Etemeleng believe they can offer a solution to the food crisis in South Africa, whilst assisting industries in saving money through the reduction of their food waste which is being landfilled.
The food waste is collected at no cost to the client and fed to the Black Soldier Fly. Excess food waste as well as garden refuse (dry waste) are mixed with other waste sources on composting heaps or using a composting machine.
The composting is used for the planting of seedlings which will be used as part of the training on vegetable farming and skills development courses Etemeleng is providing to communities.
